Home Repair
Regina acquired her parents’ home in 2017. But time can be hard on a house, especially for a home built in 1955.
A friend told her about the Healthy Homes’ home repair program and after her application was accepted, Healthy Homes performed an inspection of her house. They found that the exterior needed a full face-lift, including a new roof, siding, windows, doors and porch railings. Despite all the work involved, the renovations only took about a month.
Many of Ms. Barnett’s neighbors are long-time community members. They had watched her grow up and were glad when she moved back into the family home. They were also delighted to see the house transform over the course of the renovations.
Through collaborations with local contractors like SavKon Construction, LLC and WJ3 Enterprises, LTD, we complete renovations and new builds that provide safe, stable housing for residents. These home improvements allow elders to remain in beloved homes, create affordable opportunities for families, and support economic stability for contractor teams.
The work goes beyond roofs and siding — it builds relationships, respect and community pride.
“If I had to do it alone, I wouldn’t be able to reach as many people. With Healthy Homes as a partner, I can do so much more for the community where I live and work,” said Sheryl Marrero, founder of SavKon Construction.
