Home Repair

We provide free, exterior home repairs to South Side and Linden residents. These repairs must address safety, health, accessibility or code enforcement violations, which can include roofs, windows, doors, porches, siding, painting, gutters, fences, landscaping and more.

How to Qualify

A homeowner services agreement and a restrictive covenant must be signed by the homeowner(s) to participate in this program. The restrictive covenant requires the grant recipient to reside in their home for three years after the completion of work. If the home is sold or rented prior to the three-year period, a portion of the grant funds will be owed back to Healthy Homes.

  • Submit a completed application including income verification documents.
  • Live in the home as their full-time residence.
  • Have owned home for more than one year.
  • Show that property taxes and mortgage are paid to date.
  • Show proof of homeowners insurance.
  • Live within the specified geography — see the maps above.
  • Have household income at or below 80% of area median income.
